At The Kitchen at Keydell we pride ourselves on our home cooked meals and quality ingredients. We try and source all of our products within Hampshire to support our local community, whilst doing our bit for the environment.
Who We Are
The Kitchen at Keydell is the newly opened Coffee Shop set within the South’s leading independent garden centre Keydell Nurseries. Perfectly situated just off the A3 at Horndean you can enjoy a hearty Breakfast, an appetising healthy lunch or just indulge in a selection of delicious cakes all accompanied by our 100% Arabica: Coffee Bay’s Signature blend, or the bright & brilliant Great Rift Breakfast Blend tea. Whether you wish to sit inside our restaurant or enjoy alfresco dining we have it all with our beautifully set grounds.
The Kitchen at Keydell is an independent family run business, we pride ourselves on selecting the best quality ingredients, sourced from local suppliers and delivering a high quality product and service.
There’s so much to see and do at Keydell Nurseries, especially over the Christmas period and you’ll enjoy it so much more after sampling the treats at The Kitchen at Keydell.
Our vision
The Kitchen at Keydell is here to surprise and delight our customers by delivering outstanding quality food and the very best service, we aim to cater to all from the ‘Little gardeners’ to those with special diets. We have excellent disabled and wheelchair access, and we are happy to make little adjustments to ensure everyone feels welcome.

What we offer
Seasonal Menus
We change our menus on a regular basis and also have introduced occasional specials. To maximise seasonal ingredients available at the different times of year. This also means we can surprise and delight our customers with variety of dishes no matter how many times they return.
Fresh Ingredients
At the Kitchen at Keydell, we go out of our way to use the very best ingredients. From using Tregaust butchers to Munneries, a local fruit and veg provider, we always strive to buy the very best and freshest produce.
Tasty Meals
Due to the fact that we cook each meal to order, we can guarantee that you will love each meal that leaves our kitchen. Also, this enables us to be slightly more flexible with certain ingredients if you are allergic or if just plain don’t like something we will do our best to accommodate your wishes.
Creative Chefs
Wayne works closely with our Head Chef to always stay on top of the latest trends whilst understanding our specific client’s needs. We are working hard to train and develop our junior staff to help bring them through the ranks and give them real career choices. We see our future as their future.

Here at the Kitchen, we would never serve you an ultra modern, tiny portion which may look great on the plate but leave’s you wanting more. We serve, generous portions of freshly prepared food which hopefully will leave you wanting to come back time and again.
Home Roasted Coffee
After extensive taste testing, we have handpicked the perfect coffee bean to serve to you. From a short powerful Espresso, to a smooth Americano, a warm milky Latte or a frothy Cappuccino, we have the right drink for you. A warm day? We have the perfect iced versions of your favourite coffee too.
Fresh and tasty home cooked food
Every day our talented chefs prepare a selection of seasonally inspired dishes using locally sourced fresh ingredients in our on site kitchen to bring you a menu packed full of choice. From a hearty breakfast, to a light lunch or a slice of homemade cake, we have something for everyone.
A unique ambience and atmosphere
Join us for lunch in our restaurant, take afternoon tea under the veranda, or enjoy a sandwich on our outside benches. The choice of where to sit and relax while enjoying something from our delicious menu is yours. You can chill out with some great easy listening background music inside our newly refurbished restaurant.
Keeping you and your loved ones safe (COVID secure)
We want to ensure your visit to us is safe and secure. Your host will ask you to log your details with NHS Track and Trace, then seat you at a table. Make your menu decisions at your table before placing your order at the counter using your table number. A member of the team will deliver your food to you.

Beautiful high quality food at fair prices
I ate the chive waffles with soy mushrooms which was superb. A good sized portion which left me full. The quality was excellent. A very enjoyable experience and we’ll be returning again soon.

Lovely cafe
Great cafe in the garden centre. Friendly, helpful staff. Has an outdoor seating area as well which will be even better in the warmer weather. Good selection of cakes – found it hard to choose what to have. Social distancing measures in place so felt very safe. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area and can’t wait to go back again soon.
Lovely cafe
We stopped in for a coffee and a cake after a visit to the garden centre – it is ideally located just past the exit and through a lovely Christmassy walkway. The cafe itself serves a good selection of sandwiches and cakes (highly recommend the coffee and walnut / caramel shortbread) and the coffee / hot chocolate is excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful, and everything was spotlessly clean.
